Apartment Hunting, Server Updates and Monk!

Today, I woke up to find my server that hosts cpCommerce still in disarray. After sending out several emails regarding it, the issue was finally semi-corrected by 8:00 PM. However, the databases were never restored and thus the site did not function properly. To give you an idea on how big my database is, the backup sql file is over 150,000 lines. Now that would seem small for a business or heavily visited site, but for a medium size site, that is pretty extreme (or at least I think it is — considering it takes well over 4 hours to restore).

For the majority of the day, Kami and I were driving around Van Wert, Kalida, Columbus Groove, and Pandora. We were looking at apartments for me to stay at for when I begin working for Central Insurance. To say the least, I was disappointed with all of the apartments I saw today. Many of which, I drove by the outside and said “Forget it! I cannot trust my computer equipment to be safe there!” I have well over 10,000 dollars worth of computer equipment that ranges in a variety of functionality and if anyone things I will store that equipment in an apartment that looks runned down on the outside, they are mistaken.

The very first apartment I looked at is the best candidate so far, and its hardly anything to brag about! I was hoping to find apartment complexes, but nothing of the sory was found. Instead, I found homes turned into apartments, and they were just awful looking (hence why no pictures).

In Columbus Groove, I found a home for rent that looks very nice on the outside, unfortunately the owners have yet to call with how much it will cost to rent. It would be perfect for Kami and I to move into in March and so I am hoping I can get it relatively cheap so I can start living it in now. That way I can also start furnishing it as well.

When we got back to Findlay, we had to let a dog out and then we ate dinner. Following dinner, we watched Monk, which began its’ Season 4 episodes. I am so happy that I get to watch Monk again knowing they won’t be reruns. I just hope their writers do a better job with Season 4 than they did with Season 3.

I will be unable to post this weekend, as I will be out of town at a family get-together. However, once I get back, I will post all of the details regarding the weekend.
